Season 7 – epiBLOG 3:

Are you feeling overwhelmed with working towards your goals even though it’s only 15 days into 2019? No worries, it can happen. When too many tasks, events, or people are thrown at you all at once, it can feel like you’re constantly forced into making decisions and having to take action on every given opportunity that comes your way. I get it.

My 2019 is amazing! As always, I have a supportive and loving fiancé, family, and friends. I have the best clients ever. I’m so grateful for the spectacular people who surround me.

My son’s graduating from college in just a few months. My business is going to a new level. It’s a great year, but I’ve felt overwhelmed a few times within the past couple of weeks.

Today’s topic is to create solutions to deal with the times in your business when you’re overwhelmed.

WAYS TO OVERCOME THE OVERWHELM:

  1. The night before, make a list of manageable actions to take for your next business day. Doing this will allow you to visualize your next day, plan accordingly, and making those actions manageable, will also increase your chances of effectively completing them. I plan each one of my work days the night before. Sometimes I underestimate how long it will take me to complete a task, but these are rare occasions. If you know that you have to complete something, put it in your schedule and commit to doing it.
  2. Meditate in the mornings. This can calm and center you. If prayer resonates with you more, choose to pray in the mornings. Do what works best for you to center yourself so that you can discover from within how to best handle your business schedule, business relationships, and the overall day-to-day.
  3. Revisit your list of goals that you’ve created for the year. This will remind you of why you’re doing all of the tasks that you find yourself getting lost in from day-to-day. For example, if your goal is to finally write your self-help book, you might find the planning stage overwhelming. However, revisiting your goal of a completed and published book will remind you of why you’re doing what you’re doing. Reviewing your goals can give you that energy you need to remain committed to your overall vision. Revisiting your goals can also include revisiting your vision board that you created for this year. Your vision board should be where you can see it while you’re working or wherever you spend most of your time. Nevertheless, intentionally focusing on your vision board will remind you of the vision that you have for your business and your overall life.
  4. Pick a day out of the week to recharge yourself doing activities that relax you, center you, and positively re-energize you. For example, going to the beach, hanging out with friends, watching a movie, running, walking your dog, or anything else that works for you.

Today’s LESSON is to take a step back and see the whole picture of your business.

FUN ASSIGNMENT: Create a vision board if you haven’t done one for 2019 already. Be as creative as you can be.
